The Heartwood Trust is focused on the development and long-term ownership of a diversified portfolio of purpose-built multi-residential rental properties. The Trust's current portfolio consists of 14 secured projects representing approximately 2,600 housing units. Developments feature distinctive urban buildings, and complete livable communities to foster higher tenant retention.  Energy efficient design lowers operating costs and protects against regulatory and climate risk. The strategy aims to generate returns through two main drivers: the value creation from the development and stabilization of the assets and the long-term rent growth and property value appreciation.

Location

The Trust is focused on urban infill opportunities in strategic urban markets in Canada.  The currently secured 14-site pipeline is located across the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario.  Heartwood has proprietary access to additional pipeline and intends to expand into a diversified national portfolio of purpose-built multi-residential rental assets.
