Navi and Gagan Sivia have been fortunate enough to be brought up in development and construction from a young age as their family’s were pioneer’s in the land development space within the Greater Vancouver Region. They were set up on a blind date by their family’s bankers and after their wedding in 2009 they knew they wanted to grow their business to focus on much needed housing solutions through out the communities they lived in. Set out to ensure they utilize the breadth of knowledge and expertise within the couple, they set AZURE apart from other development companies.
Navi pursued a Diploma in Architectural Engineering followed by an evening and weekend only Bachers of Construction Management while managing his own townhome developments during the days. He always took a keen interest in designing his own sites before hiring a consultant team, so he wanted to fine tune his design skills through achieving both, a Master of Urban Planning, as well as a Master of Architecture. Navi's ability to locate sites prime for additional density, and then design those sites to maximize their potential through creative and collaborative solutions considering the priorities of all key stakeholders including future residents, city staff, council, engineering and transportation authorities, local businesses, environmental professionals, and neighbourhood organizations. Navi is now considered a leader in his industry and is leaned on for expert discussions for municipalities, the provincial government, and other organizations such as UDI and ULI where he forms a key part of various liaison committees.
Gagan Sivia holds a CPA, CGA, CFP designation and a degree in Accounting. Her career led her between accounting and finance industries which allowed her to become a lead expert within FP&A. Along with owning an expanding real estate development company, Azure Properties Group, she is full time faculty at BCIT. She is focused on Analytics and is passionate about data and is often participating in various speaking engagements. Being multi disciplinary has allowed her to teach abroad and win various awards. Gagan is focused on creating long-standing relationships within each community in which she and Azure Properties Group participates. This feeds her commitment to growing the power of communities throughout BC. From this commitment to community, she also delivers a variety of programming and volunteer initiatives; including, teaching financial literacy for at-risk women and children and acting as a subject matter expert and resource for community minded developers.
